"RELIC OF ROYAL GEORGE" IN THE FORM OF A PAIR OF SIGNALLING CANNONS

Pair of cannon made from salvaged material raised from HMS Royal George, sunk 1782 Portsmouth harbour. 9mm bore, nice reinforcing rings, raised vent, engraved between second and third reinforcing rings "Relic of Royal George Sunk 1782 Raised 1840". Barrel length 190mm, O/A length 200mm, width 100mm, height 80mm.

In excellent condition, barrel patterns identical, engraving layout differs slightly, on later Admiralty style oak carriages.
